Reviews of our Hill Country Resort

Guests have made their escape to Canyon of the Eagles, and they've got great things to say about it. Here are some guest reviews of our Hill Country resort:

"RV Heaven, Excellent Food, Pet Friendly
I have been to Canyon of the Eagle Resort (COER) several times. The first time was with my wife and daughter. We decided to risk it, even though the photos seemed dated on the web-page. The getaway was fabulous. If you need a cabin and just a lake,...this is what you want. The staff is fabulous. The food was 4 Star quality. (Little pricey, but worth it) And I cannot say enough about how they care about your animals. ONLY in Germany have I seen people so friendly and accepting animals. Our lab was received openly and I was not 'shamed' by brining my dog.

The RV spot is shaded and has great showers. The sites are a touch off level, but I didn't mind due to the comfort and closeness I had with the main resort area. HIGH QUALITY for Texas.

RECOMMEND TO ANY US MILITARY FAMILY in TX, needing a get-a-away from Post."

"Great get away - peaceful beautiful setting
Were there for just one night & would have liked to have stayed a second but place was booked. The grounds are very nice, the staff helpful & you can't beat the location. Ate dinner in the restaurant ( we had the special pulled pork enchiladas and pork loin dish both were tasty and a bottle of the wine from a local winery, Fall Creek, price was reasonable, wait staff not the most efficient but certainly were friendly.). The basic accommodations are sparse and the room cries for a larger bedside table and a table at a decent working height but the bed, though soft, was very comfortable and the porch overlooking the lake was a great place for morning coffee."

"Great Stay in the Hill Country
This is my second time at Canyon of the Eagles. My last visit was back in January 2010. I enjoyed this visit much more than the previous one.

I would suggest going when it is warmer outside --- spring or summer would be great. We were there last weekend and it happened to be Spring Break for most of Texas --- place was almost fully booked, mostly with families and their kids. With Spring just days away, we saw tons of bluebonnets on the trails of the property. Lake Buchanan water level was still pretty low so some of the nearby guided water kayak/waterfall tours were not operating due to the low lake level.

Traveled here with my boyfriend and our 2 small dogs. We booked a room with a single bed. Rooms were decorated simply but nice and rustic. Had dinner here one night --- the pulled pork enchiladas were great ------- also had a spinach & goat cheese salad which was also good. Morning coffee at on-site restaurant was also good. Also would like to note that the entire staff, from the front desk, to the waitresses and hostess were all super friendly and helpful.

Saw the afternoon reptile show put on by their naturalist --- he was very knowledgeable & had great stories to share. Evening house band consisted of one man --- but he was great and was also very entertaining.

Recommend: stay during spring/summer to get full use of place and activities like kayaking tours, fishing, hiking the on-site trails, night observatory, etc."

"I Appreciate You!
Recently, LCRA hosted a meeting of over 35 County Judges at The Canyon of the Eagles. Not only is The Canyon a beautiful spot, it also portrays the beauty of our community."

"Our Time at Canyon of the Eagles
Everyone was very happy with their experience. My shamanic maistro was very impressed. The food was excellent, the service superb, the overall feel -- the "energy" if you will -- was very harmonious. Everyone wants to come back. Thank you for making this facilitation so easy. You are a pleasure to work with."

It is a wonderful spot to have a wedding. Everything was perfect for my daughter's wedding, and the staff was friendly and extraordinarily helpful."

"We had a great time during our stay.

The staff was friendly, the room clean, and the whole resort had a laid back feeling but friendly. Additionally, the observatory experience was wonderful and the guide, Guy Taylor, could not have been more helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great vacation."

"My husband and I stayed at the resort for three nights in June and wanted you to know how pleased we were with our accommodations and the courteous treatment we received from your staff. Beyond extending the usual politeness, they were helpful in suggesting places to eat as well as a fishing guide. We especially want to thank you for the striper guide service recommendation. My husband chose BOSSTRIPER based on your employee's recommendation, who said this guide was really good with kids, and my twelve year old son Mike LOVES to fish. Your employee was right on the money!

Both my husband and son had an awesome fishing experience with Mr. Vaandrager. I wish I had gone with them! Bas let Mike drive the boat and (patiently) showed him how everything on the boat worked. Of course, he was fascinated with the fish finder! He extended their tour of Lake Buchanan even after they caught their limit in the first two hours. We hope you keep telling people about his excellent guide service. He really is great with kids (and adults)! I have attached a picture of Mike with one of the stripers he caught (not even the biggest one)! Jamie told me they were too busy catching fish to take pictures:-)

Thanks again,"
