"We just go home ... LOVED IT!!!!!!

We spent four nights and didn't want to come home!! Our cottage a had great view of the lake. This is not your every day average resort. This is a nature resort. If you love the outdoors, this is the place for you. There is no TV, we as a family played games and enjoyed our time together. No room service, which was fine with us. We hiked around and saw a lot of wildlife, which was right up our alley. We kayaked around the lake enjoyed that too.

Our kids really loved it and we are already planning our vacation for next year. If you are an outdoor person and love the quiet layed back lifestyle this place is for you. No pampering or spoiling going here!

"Perfect Place to celebrate 5-year Anniversary

My husband and I chose Canyon of the Eagles to celebrate our 5-year anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved the rooms, our patio overlooking the lake, the beautiful garden and pool on grounds, and the surrounding hiking trails and lake.

"Nature Get Away Without Having to Rough It

Canyon of the Eagles was the perfect find. It has the comforts of a nice resort room, but was built into the surroundings in such a way we felt we really got to enjoy the outdoors. The room was spacious enough for our pack n' play and dog crates. It would be worth going back just for the star gazing alone."

"Tranquil Texas Hill Country Retreat

It is a beautiful location for nature lovers and hikers ... I recommend paying a bit more for the 'cottage' cabins as they are more spacious ... and have spectacular views of the lake. We hired a kayak and went paddling around the lake – spotted an osprey and a bald eagle, as well as the hundred of red tailed hawks that swoop around the area."

"A quiet place

We chose Canyon of the Eagles because we were looking for a great place to use the telescope we recently bought. The night sky was great. We plan to go back, but next time it will be in spring or fall. Even the parking lots are away from the rooms so the cottages are very quiet."

"Loved It!

This was not my first visit with them. Each and every time I love it! The room is always clean and fresh. The vistas are amazing, especially from the restaurant. The food is excellent ... the chef does a great job. I've always been there on business, but I need to take my family next time."

"My husband and I stayed at the resort for three nights in June and wanted you to know how pleased we were with our accommodations and the courteous treatment we received from your staff. Beyond extending the usual politeness, they were helpful in suggesting places to eat as well as a fishing guide. We especially want to thank you for the striper guide service recommendation. My husband chose BOSSTRIPER based on your employee's recommendation, who said this guide was really good with kids, and my twelve year old son Mike LOVES to fish. Your employee was right on the money!

Both my husband and son had an awesome fishing experience with Mr. Vaandrager. I wish I had gone with them! Bas let Mike drive the boat and (patiently) showed him how everything on the boat worked. Of course, he was fascinated with the fish finder! He extended their tour of Lake Buchanan even after they caught their limit in the first two hours. We hope you keep telling people about his excellent guide service. He really is great with kids (and adults)! I have attached a picture of Mike with one of the stripers he caught (not even the biggest one)! Jamie told me they were too busy catching fish to take pictures:-)
