On the northern edge of the Park is the Eagle Eye Observatory, operated by the Austin Astronomical Society and equipped with a 16-inch Ealing "Educator" Cassegrain Telescope and a classic 12.5-inch Newtonian Telescope.
The Observatory is operated several nights a week, weather permitting, and is complimentary to our guests.
Whether you're a first time viewer or a seasoned astronomer, young or old, you'll marvel at the moon and planets, glowing gas cloud nebulae, star clusters, distant galaxies, and more
And join in the monthly Public Star Parties hosted by the Austin Astronomical Society, featuring the Observatory and additional equipment and astronomers from the Society, providing a rich and enjoyable learning experience. Check the calendar for dates, and Austin Astronomical Society for further details. |
